SingTel Hawker Heroes Winners

The top three hawker heroes prepared for a mouth-watering culinary cook-off against Michelin-starred heavyweight Gordon Ramsay in the SingTel Hawker Heroes cook-off.

On 5 and 6 July, Chef Ramsay spent time with each of the three hawkers to learn their signature dishes: chicken rice, chilli crab and laksa. Here are some photos!

The contest was held at Newton Food Centre where more than 1000 members of the public, including excited Singaporeans who started queuing from the night before, witnessed the exciting culinary showdown and sampled chicken rice, laksa and chilli crab prepared by Chef Ramsay and the hawkers. 

The results are out!

Winners:
Chicken Rice – Tian Tian Chicken Rice
Chili Crab – Gordon Ramsay
Laksa – 328 Katong Laksa ‎
Overall winner: Singapore’s Hawker Heroes!

The Singapore hawker heroes narrowly edged-out Chef Ramsay in the live poll by 6 per cent of the total vote in the closely contested battle. In each dish category, Tian Tian Chicken Rice won by 6 per cent, 328 Katong Laksa by 19 per cent and Chef Ramsay’s version of Chilli Crab triumphed by 5 per cent.
