Rejuvenate yourself in the clean air and natural beauty of Gangwon! Gangwon is known for its beautiful natural sites such as Seoraksan National Park, Taebaeksan National Park. But do you know it is also home to some sites where some of the most popular Korean dramas (Kdramas) are filmed at? 

Are you ready for them? Here are five places to visit for the avid Kdrama fans!

1. Jumunjin Breakwater (Goblin)

Remember the scene where Ji Eun-tak first summoned the Dokkebi? Filmed at the Juminjin Breakwater, the Jumunjin Breakwater is originally constructed to prevent coastal erosion. How about taking a photo with a buckwheat flower bouquet?

2. Yongpyong Resort (Goblin and Winter Sonata)


Whether you watched Goblin or Winter Sonata, the Yongpyong Resort appears in both the 2017 and 2002 drama! Besides being the place of Eun-tak part-time job, it is also one of the venues hosting the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics! So you can ski, and also ride the gondola which features a great view of the Balwangsan Mountain.

3.  Ojukheon House (Saimdang, Light's Diary)



The maiden home of Shin Saimdang, also the place where some of the iconic scenes in Saimdang, Light's Diary is filmed. This is the Sajumun Gate, the main gate of the Ojukheon House. A quick fact - Shin Saimdang is the woman portrayed on the 50,000 won bill!

4. Samtan Art Mine (Descendants of the Sun) 



Oh my, Captain Yoo Si-Jin rescuing the damsel in distress Doctor Kang Mo-yeon! The Samtan Art Mine is featured in the drama Descendants of the Sun as the main hideout for David Argus. The Samtan Art Mine used to be a coal mine and is now an art complex housing artworks from 150 countries all over the world.

5. Nami Island (Winter Sonata)



Winter Sonata filmed on this island! Namiseom or Nami Island is a popular destination for many tourists with its beautiful tree lined roads. You can also make your own craftwork on the island!
