Lenovo-MTV CO:LAB is an integrated social platform that enables Millennials from across India, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia,  Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, to share stories about their communities through music.

“It takes a dreamer to envisage musical success, but a doer to take action and make their dreams a reality. Lenovo-MTV CO:LAB was built to empower dreamers to get up and do and we are proud to have achieved this objective, as evident from so many outstanding creative projects that got submitted during the course of the campaign," said Jessie Quek, Country General Manager, Lenovo Singapore. "We are pleased to announce Nick Chan as one of the four Lenovo-MTV CO:LAB champions that emerged from a highly competitive field. It’s fantastic to see him represent Singapore in this high-profile regional competition region and we look forward to seeing Nick go on to make his mark in the music industry”.

Nick’s project, titled “Murmur”, attempts to capture the feeling of living in a fast-paced society like Singapore, with its accelerated growth and accompanying issues. It tries to portray an identity that is disparate, chaotic, rambling, technologically dependent and yet efficient at the same time.

“The past three months have been intense but hugely rewarding”, said Nick Chan. “It has been exciting to have a platform like Lenovo-MTV CO:LAB to share projects that we are passionate about, to be coached by highly respected mentors and to get access to resources to develop them", said Nick. "I now look forward to improving my skills and completing the MTV music video. It has been a privilege to be part of such a significant campaign and to be selected as one of the four winners from so many other deserving projects!”

“Lenovo-MTV CO:LAB is an innovative initiative that has surpassed our expectations and we are excited to announce the four final winners. While there may be others who are just starting to engage with the millennial generation, we have been doing this for decades. This extensive, integrated social engagement and platform is a prime example of our on-going efforts to showcase Asian talents, add creative content to the youth entertainment scene, while bringing the very best of MTV to millennials across Asia,” said Tan Sian Ju, Vice President of MTV & Comedy Central Brands, Viacom International Media Networks Asia. “We are looking forward to the final production of the original MTV music video that will reflect the new experiences this platform is enabling for the winners, as they represent and share Asia’s Millennials’ hopes, dreams, talent, ambition and diversity.”

The additional Lenovo-MTV CO:LAB regional champions include filmmaker Yuji Mitsuhashi from Japan, Karan Bedi from India who triumphed in the vocalist category, and Ron Roumsub in Thailand for his motion graphics submission.

Leveraging the resources provided by Lenovo and MTV, the competition empowers the most progressive, creative and talented Millennials from across Asia Pacific to connect and collaborate with likeminded individuals who do not just dream about accomplishing their goals but go out there and do.
